Major Executive
Committee
Major Executive Committee is composed of our 15 officers.
They meet once a week and discuss how each office is doing
and any big events that are coming up on the schedule. They
also take care of business that needs to get done that doesn't
involve all of the chapter's input. The president runs this
meeting and has a written agenda of what they will be going
over in meeting. It also gives the other officers a time
to ask for help if they need any with their position.
Minor Executive
Committee
Each major executive has a minor executive officer that
helps them out with their position. Minor executive meet
once a week also. The Vice President runs this meeting and
a written agenda is not normally used. Each minor executive
reports on what they have been working on and also what
their major executive has been doing.
Public Relations Committee
The Public Relations Chairman runs this meeting. It is held
once a week and usually consists of about 5-10 people. The
purpose of this committee is to delegate authority to other
people so that the Public Relations Chairman doesn't get
bogged down. This committee is very important because they
deal with every huge event that we put on, such as the Johnny
Holm dance, Bison Brevities, Parent's Weekend, and Homecoming.
They also do all the actual ideas behind all of our advertising
and publicity.
Fraternity
Standards Committee
This committee meeting is held once a week also and it is
run by the Fraternity Standards Chairman. The people that
are on this committee are elected by the chapter. They deal
with getting everyone to pay their bills, making sure everyone
is up to Theta Chi standards, and keeping everyone in line.
They also deal with bringing people up for suspension.
Alumni Relations
Committee
This committee meets once a week to take care of Alumni
Relations. They send out letters, e-mails and deal with
Alumni on a day to day basis. The Alumni Relations Chairman
runs this meeting. It usually consists of 5-7 guys.
Rush Committee
This committee meets once a week and is run by the Rush
Chairman. This committee discusses everything from new rush
ideas and how to implement them to mid-semester rush events
and concentrating on rushing 365 days a year. This committee
consists of 12-15 guys, that are selected from applications
they fill out to try and be on it.
Finance Committee
This committee is run by the treasurer. It consists of the
president, alumni treasurer, assistant treasurers and four
elected members by the chapter. They discuss ways of spending
money and budgeting. Also, if someone wants to purchase
something with chapter money, they have to take it to the
Finance Committee meeting first to get it approved. Everything
is voted on in this committee.
Social Committee
This committee meeting is held once a week to discuss new
ideas of social events. They work on all social events that
we have currently and help keep everyone happy by coming
up with fun social things to do. They plan big social events
and small midweek events. This committee is run by the Social
chairman and usually consists of 8-10 members.
Philanthropy
Committee
This committee is run by the Philanthropy chairman and consists
of 5-6 members. They find new ways of doing philanthropy
and ways of getting everyone to do at least 6 hours of philanthropy.
The meet once a week, sometimes with another committee so
that they can come up with more ideas. They work closely
with the Public Relations guys, because a lot of the things
they do coincide.
