scholarship program

On of our scholarship programs consists of informative speakers before our Monday night meals. These speakers range from campus and community officials, anyone from job services, campus presidential candidates, and alcohol and drug abuse counselor to lighter, more interesting and attractive speakers include the head football coach for the Bison, and dating advice. Monday Night Formal Meal is included in our dues for both members living in the house and out, provided you show up to the speaker.

At least once a semester, our scholarship program puts on a Grade Skills Workshop. This workshop is mandatory for any members that are on academic suspension, but also works injunction with our Formal Meal, so all members are encouraged to attend. The workshop is put on by our Scholarship committee or someone from campus, such as a worker in the Project Success office at NDSU. Its purpose is to review such things as time management, study habits, note taking, test taking strategies, and also to remind everyone of the tutoring programs provided to us by campus.

Once a semester, our program also puts on a Scholarship Banquet. This is used to recognize those individuals that have demonstrated good academics for the last semester. Awards are given to those that made the Dean's List, those above a 3.0 GPA, and those that surpass the all-men's average. Other awards given are for the highest GPA, called the Slugger Award, and the most improved GPA.
